BEES NEEZ MICROPHONES ARE PROUDLY MADE IN AUSTRALIA

T1 Tribute Series ships with:

  • Custom built power supply

  • Superior quality REDCO 7pin
    3M cable with NEUTRIK connectors

  • Heavy duty suspension mount

  • Shockproof/waterproof carry case.

The T1 is a tribute to the U47 Tube Microphone. The T1 comes with a replica of the large-style U47 transformer that was used in the earlier U47's.

The T1's 2461 NiCo transformer's larger size and high nickel content achieves better low end rolling off at 20 Hz, identical to the original U47 design. The T1 uses NOS EF Series steel tubes from the 1940's - 50's giving it that U47 sound that is so desirable.

The T1 features our dual lapped K7 capsule and comes with a custom built power supply, REDCO 7pin 3M cable with NEUTRIK connectors, 60 mm suspension mount and carry case.

"I recorded an entire song straight off the bat using only the T1 set to cardioid on each source, via a UA 2108 solid-state mic preamp: acoustic guitar, drums (with a dynamic in the kick drum for fairness’ sake and the T1 hovering just above and in front of the kit), vocals, piano, bass amp and electric guitar. Then I sat back and listened… and was very impressed by what I heard. Basically the track sat together amazingly well given there was no EQ or compression to be seen anywhere. The track had tremendous tonal balance, warmth and valve mojo but with excellent presence and detail to the point where it sounded like it had already hit some tasty outboard processing. It wasn’t overly bright but zesty in the upper mids and highs, clearly marking it out as a superior microphone. The Tribute struck me as a real rock ’n’ roll microphone geared towards delivering big, bold sounds, as well as more than a hint of harmonic distortion. I wouldn’t recommend it for classical recordings or applications where a pristine sound image is required, but as a pop/rock microphone it’s as good as anything I’ve used since I last bumped into a real U47. While perhaps lacking a U47’s huge bottom end, I didn’t really miss this in my time with the T1 and there was no mud or mush to deal with in any of the subsequent applications I used it in."

James Hugh Macdonald sings and plays guitar for a recording into Beesneez mics at my studio (Big Hand Studio) in Melbourne Australia. Beezneez T1 and Elizabeth in Figure 8 for side rejection. Achieved great separation. Thanks Ben just loving the microphones! Michael Ingvarson

Here is another song from the same session (see above). This time Gillian Welch's 'Acony Bell.'

Alys Longmate

Here we have a couple of Australia’s own BeesNeez mics in action recording Alys Longmate, who incidentally is a mere 15 years of age. Mics in use are the T1 on the vocal and an Arabella on guitar. It’s the classic ‘capture a singer/guitarist’ two mics in figure-8 pattern, straight to a Presonus Firestudio. Processing is all DAW based plug-ins. Knob twiddling boffin and AudioTechnology contributor, Guy Harrison, is manning the controls and atmos.
