ARABELLA Producer Series ships with:

  • Custom built power supply

    3M cable with NEUTRIK connectors

  • Heavy duty suspension mount

  • Shockproof/waterproof carry case.

The ARABELLA has been designed from the ground up, not to be a clone microphone. It does share lineage with a few classics, namely the Neumann U47 and M49 and has been designed to take the best of each to make an extremely versatile microphone.

The Arabella is the third Tube microphone designed and released by BeesNeez. Not being a clone manufacturer, we wanted to create something different; we wanted to capture the essence of of the venerable U47/U48 with the versatility and build quality of the M49. How did we do it? The answer is simple. Take only the best materials (bronze and Brass), NOS European steel Vacuum Tubes, Paper in oil and foil film Capacitors, American made resistors that have been designed for use in medical imaging add to this a hybrid capsule that captures the sound of the M7 with the stability and repeatability of the K47 mixed with over 1000 hours in R&D and last but certainly not least, build the entire microphone in our factory.

The Arabella met and in many cases exceeded every expectation that we set out to achieve in the beginning. Sonically we wanted to create a microphone that had a sense of cochlear linearity ie; hears and creates an amplified analogy of what we hear. The Arabella is a great classic sounding microphone that is a real goto, great for male and female vocals, natural sounding rooms and can take a real beating on drums or amp cabs. Often when we are asked what the Arabella sounds like we say “It’s like a mansion with the entire front wall missing, open and huge with a classic expensive sound”. As always, the Arabella is back by our all inclusive warranty and our money back guarantee “if you’re not absolutely floored by the performance and sound of the mic you can swap or return it for a full refund”.

The Arabella features our dual lapped K7 capsule, European Steel tube, Cinemag 96322A (BV8 style) transformer and 9 polar patterns.

"This has become my no brainer, go-to mic for mono drum overhead and it never fails to deliver – I put it up somewhere over the kit, hit record and enjoy. It also handles vocals, guitar amps and other duties very nicely.... At times it sounded as though the signal had passed through some gentle high-quality compression (a beneficial by-product of the valve and big transformer combination), something that most users would find pretty welcome during long hours of tracking I’d imagine. As with the other models in this series, the Arabella seems to be able to cope with a wide range of recording duties and I see no reason why this mic couldn’t be employed as an all-round studio workhorse with excellent results."

Alys Longmate

Here we have a couple of Australia’s own BeesNeez mics in action recording Alys Longmate, who incidentally is a mere 15 years of age. Mics in use are the T1 on the vocal and an Arabella on guitar. It’s the classic ‘capture a singer/guitarist’ two mics in figure-8 pattern, straight to a Presonus Firestudio. Processing is all DAW based plug-ins. Knob twiddling boffin and AudioTechnology contributor, Guy Harrison, is manning the controls and atmos.

ORIANTHI IN THE STUDIO WITH AN ARABELLA

If you've seen Michael Jackson's This Is It, you're probably familiar with Orianthi. At just 24 years old, this Australian singer/guitarist has made a name for herself stepping in for the guitar solo on Beat It made famous by Eddie Van Halen, backing up Carrie Underwood at the Grammy's and jamming with Carlos Santana. Orianthi stopped by for a private studio session with us to play According to You, the first single from her second album, Believe.
